Who am I, anyhow?

Never being one for shameless self-promotion I've never really filled in a page like this. You might remember my last site, I had the link for "Me" dangling there for years, years, without any content. So, I've decided to continue that trend, no true content, but lots of randomness about me. And what better way than with a faque FAQ?

I'm a college graduate. An American. Someone who keeps current, researches his opinions before he voices them, and votes. I read serious books and watch stupid cartoons. I'm a ravenous college football fan. My trust is difficult to gain, yet easy to lose. I think mainstream hip hop has been destroyed by its own success, and thank God the underground exists. I revolve around technology and wish that more companies would create technology that truly revolves around us, not their marketing departments.

Current residence? Baltimore, MD
Education? BS, Penn State University (1998), MS, Carnegie Mellon University (2004)
Platform of choice? Windows normally (gosh, I like compatibility with the rest of the world), and Linux for all my security work.
Web authoring and graphics? I'm pretty exclusive to Macromedia products (er, Adobe).
Employed? Yes (but I always accept cash donations).
Friends? Yep, but I've taken down all my random pictures of people. It gets me down when some slip in and out, as people tend to do. The rotating picture galleries over under stuff should be okay for now...
Podcast? Blog? No, thanks, but if you ever have the chance to speak with Ron Bloom, Tim O'Reilly, or Howard Rheingold, or attend something at which any one of them are speaking, do it. More techno-societal visionaries than new media snake-oil salesmen. Highly recommended.
Pet peeves? You better believe it. When people slurp their coffee, it drives me up the wall. People that don't even drink coffee are almost as bad...
Hobbies? I'm a bit of a media junkie, but who isn't these days? I don't get into mainstream "news" anymore, I feel too manipulated. Poke around my links section to get a better feel for what I'm into. I like to be a serial "early adopter" of new technologies, frankly, I can't wait for my android body. All these biological functions get messy.
Musical taste? I listen to classical when I program, non-vocal techno/trance when I do security testing, and all sorts of Cake, Foo Fighters, Deltron 3030, Blackalicious, Beck, Talking Heads, Massive Attack and Anti-Pop Consortium stuff otherwise. Top-40 music is the worst...
